How could I travel to Southwold in the 1900s?

Steamers from London can now drop you off on dry land at the end of our new Pier. If you’ve your own car, it’s worth knowing that the Grand Hotel has a private garage with its own petrol pump – and your chauffeur can stay too. We had a railway line, but it closed down in 1929 and motor buses are now very popular.
